Responsible for requirements , design, architecture, development, deployment, training, change management, configuration management, certification, documentation, maintenance including obsolescence, value engineering & documentation
- Accountable for establishing, improving and sustaining the Engineering Process, Capability & Capacity for each of the functions (currently functions in India are Software, Data science and Hardware). The process shall be Integrated with the overall PDP, S&OP, Quality and Program Mgt processes
- People Capability: Acquire or develop team to have right balance of capability covering the Domain (Semiconductor Fab Process), Technology, Engineering and PDP process. In summary, the team shall
- Work alongside requirements analyst / product owner to translate Customer needs into Functional & Non-Functional requirements
- Quantify and document sub-system interactions
- Own the traceability of requirements
- Own technical risks for both hardware and software and resolve
- Accountable for ensuring that the Engineering process (Software: Agile; Hardware : Iterative) is supplemented by appropriate Engineering Process tools and technology. The Process shall be functional in letter and spirit
- Accountable for establishing the right supplier ecosystem so that we are able to increase the value addition from India in Engineering and subsequently in manufacturing
- Lean culture – Establish Daily focus on Deliverables (Value), Problem surfacing / Solving, Continuous Improvement, standardization, knowledge sharing and Engineering / software re-use
- Tools/Technology: Effectively collaborate with the global teams and enable identification of right Engineering tools / technology for commercial product success and train the people to excel in it
- Systems thinking: Team in India currently has focus on specific functions however, the product Success is when functions come together. The team members shall be trained to think on these lines (Engineering-V). The India ecosystem shall be leveraged to supplement the other functions to meet product roadmap commitments
- Collaboration across sites and Global functions: Develop a positive and cheerful work relationship with Global sites so that there is effective knowledge sharing, help, support and Collaboration culture. Ensure constant cross functional engagement (Product Engineering, Application Engg., Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Data science, V&V, Manufacturing, Servicing) to ensure the milestones are met and the deliveries progress as per the commitment made
