People/team management skills:
· You build, coach, and mentor a team of technical product management experts who can operate independently and without extensive guidance.
· You createa culture to follow and share the latest product management best-practices.
· You keep a pulse on product management learnings and share and constantly communicate (e.g., articles, podcasts, books, whitepapers, conferences)
· You create processes for the team that enable efficient work and high job satisfaction.
· You constantly work with your team on their personal development and motivation, and have a PDP and promotion plans in place for your team members.
· You are responsible for the hiring strategy and hiring decisions within your team.
· You may collaborate with third party partners and represent the company.
Product management hard skills:
· Strategy/discovery/road-mapping: You contribute to the team road-mapping and may define a1–2-year vision for your product. You help build the product backlog for other domains within your product group.
· Data fluency/metrics/customer focus: You maintain a strong culture of data informed product development. Consistently integrate data and customer feedback into product decisions
· Delivery/execution: You partner with engineering and UX, and fully own the backlog of experiments. You are comfortable with reprioritization and changes to existing plan to increase customer value and keep your product attractive in changing market conditions.
· Technical skills: You are capable of questioning technical (engineering, UX, data, etc.) aspects of the product, and discuss trade-offs with your engineering and UX counterparts.
· Communication: You can represent any of the product group's product domains on company level.
· You contribute to strategic product decisions on company level. Product strategy, feature design, and technology approach for your specific product may be ambiguous (not yet defined) and you lead the work to define it.
· Your product decisions are spot on, based on market research and data that you gather.
· Your project management skills (time management, setting expectations, clear communication, stakeholder alignment) are excellent.
